10 Rules for Achieving Anything in Life
Perhaps you can't even recall what your dreams are (or were).
Or perhaps you're on the verge of huge success but can't seem to cross the finish line.
Here's some assistance.
These are the ten guidelines I follow in life to achieve success in 3 out of 4 endeavors.
That's correct. I fail about 1 out of every 4 times.
But then I get back up, wash the grass stains off of my jeans, and go back to work.
Here are my ground rules: (tips, suggestions, laws or whatever works for you).
May they assist you in realizing all of your goals:
1: Forget about motivation.
Motivation is ephemeral and transient, and it is one of the largest con games ever played on the self-help industry.
Instead, concentrate on dedication. How committed are you to achieving your goal? Why? What happens when you get there? What are you willing to give up to reach your goal?
You will fail if you wait for the motivation fairy to sprinkle you with get busy dust.
However, if you are dedicated, you will take action and succeed.
2: Concentrate on the voyage.
When people focus on results, their determination to succeed withers and dies like a daisy in the arid desert the first time they encounter a hurdle.
People who focus on the journey – learning, exploring, experimenting, and growing - persevere in the face of adversity.
3: Have some fun!
Why is it that none of these success books ever mention having FUN? You will not progress toward your goal if you are not having fun.
Life is a fantastic game (yes, a GAME!) You will lose all perspective if you take it seriously.
Even the most difficult goal may be accomplished if you approach it as a game and have as much fun as possible along the way.
4: No nonsense thinking
If you’re awake then you’re probably thinking. And your thoughts do, in fact, shape your future. Do you feel gloomy, uncomfortable, pessimistic, unsure, or afraid? Good luck with your success since it's not going to happen.
If, on the other hand, you choose to be happy, hopeful, enthusiastic, thrilled, and ready to venture out of your comfort zone at any time, I can almost ensure your success in life.
5: Reframe the crap
You are not stuck in a dead end job; instead, you are gaining vital life skills that you may apply to your own business.
You don't have tinnitus - you can hear the cosmos cheering you on.
You don't lack knowledge; you have an open mind ready to absorb fresh ideas not only for four years, but for the rest of your life.
That woman who cut you off in traffic? - She's on her way to the hospital to see her dying mother. Aren't you pleased you're having a better day?
That failure you had in your last company venture? - That laid the groundwork for your unavoidable success in the new enterprise you'll be launching next month.
Reframe everything bad into something good and watch the magic happen. I can't tell you how many times this simple trick helped me get back into a good attitude and move forward with enthusiasm and focus.
6: Feel the dread and go on with it nevertheless.
Whatever it is that you are afraid of, here is how to overcome it as quickly as possible:
Simply do it.
If you don't, the fear will develop to the point where it appears insurmountable.
But if you do whatever it is that scares you, I guarantee it will not be one-quarter as horrible as you thought. In fact, you may realize that you enjoy it.
7: Remove any distractions.
Can't get enough of TV? Cancel your TV service and donate the television.
Are you spending your time cleaning when you should be working on your business? Hire someone to clean your house.
Do you have a pastime that you find yourself drawn to? Rent a storage unit and store all of your hobby items there. Don't open it again until you've completed your most recent goal.
8: It's all up to you, Baby.
Expect no one else to do it for you.
Your partner, spouse, parents, and friends all have their own life. Whatever you desire to accomplish, you are the one who will make it happen.
This includes being happy. Except for you, no one (NO ONE) can make you happy.
9: Enlist the assistance of others.
Yes, I just told you that your success is entirely dependent on you and you alone.
Yes, it is.
That doesn't mean you can't hire specialists to help you along the way. You are still in charge of selecting the correct people and ensuring that they complete the work you require.
If you're going to be successful, it'll be because you did what you needed to do to be successful, which sometimes includes bringing in other people to help you along the road.
Make a strategy.
You've set a goal, but how are you going to get there? You should be aware of the next 3 steps you must take to reach your goal. Schedule a time when you will complete these three steps, and then go to work on your strategy.
